Passion for Fashion

I developed and led an after-school Fashion & Design Club to create a space where my own passions for fashion, design, and innovation could intersect meaningfully with my students' interests. This enrichment program provided students with hands-on opportunities to explore creative expression, develop fine motor skills, and engage in project-based learning in a supportive, choice-driven environment.

Throughout the program, students participated in a full design process—from brainstorming and sketching to planning, creating, and presenting their work. We completed a variety of projects that allowed students to experience real-world techniques in age-appropriate, accessible ways. These included machine sewing personalized tote bags, hand-sewing miniature stuffed animals, and designing original outfits on desktop mannequins using fabric, embellishments, and paper elements.

The club fostered not only creativity and craftsmanship, but also perseverance, collaboration, and pride in completed work. Students were encouraged to express their individual style, learn new skills, and see themselves as designers and creators. The program became a space of joyful discovery and empowerment, where student voice and choice were central to every project.
